The Greenwood County Council is hosting another community-wide workshop on community violence for members of the business community and the Greenwood SC Chamber is welcoming businesses to participate.
The meeting will be held on Thursday, July 12th at 3:30 p.m. at the Greenwood County Park Plaza Office, 600 Monument St., Room 104.
Hosted by members of the Greenwood County Council, including Councilwoman Edith Childs, Councilman Gonza Bryant, and Councilman Theo Lane, ongoing community discussions have occurred with various sectors of the community, including law enforcement, faith based leaders, and the community at-large. The County has convened these discussions to hear possible solutions from residents and community leaders.
“The Chamber is grateful to Councilwoman Childs and members of the County Council for their efforts in identifying solutions to curb community violence in Greenwood County,” said Chamber President Angelle LaBorde. “Members of the business community are happy to be a part of the discussion,” she said.
There will be one final meeting with representatives of the juvenile justice sector and then members of the County Council will discuss future plans and strategies. A meeting with juvenile justice leaders will occur on July 26th at 3:30 p.m. in the same meeting location.
There is no fee to attend this gathering, but advance reservations are encouraged by the Chamber. Visit GreenwoodSCchamber.org to register or call (864) 889-9310.
