The Greenwood SC Chamber’s Women’s Leadership Council is accepting donated professional clothing and accessories for both women and men job seekers. Clean, pressed clothing (on hangers) can either be dropped off at the Chamber office, 110 Phoenix Street (from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Mon – Thurs) or dropped off at Belk from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the Men’s Department.
The Council, in partnership with Northland Communications and Belk, will be co-hosting a “Suits and Salads” event on Monday, October 22, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to aid women who are currently seeking employment. Participants will receive assistance with resumes, interview skills and job fair essentials. In addition to educational seminars and a complimentary salad lunch, participants will also have the opportunity to try on professional clothing and leave with an interview-ready outfit. Volunteers will be available to provide feedback on resumes and offer interviewing tips and role playing.
WLC’s goal is to prepare individuals for the upcoming Upper Savannah Job Fair on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Piedmont Technical College by offering job readiness skills, support and encouragement.
