Ninety Six man arrested for burglary, kidnapping and more

On November 4, 2018 the Greenwood County Sheriff arrested a man after he broke into a home, beat a victim with a pistol, tied him up and ended up stealing his vehicle.

Wesley Hunter Clinkscales, 31 of Ninety Six was arrested and charged with kidnapping, assault and battery, burglary, grand larceny and possession of a weapon during commission of a crime.

According to the police report, Clinkscales went into a home on Pinelake Drive, Greenwood and hit the victim in the face with a pistol as he was sleeping.  The victim said Clinkscales was demanding the location of a pistol.

The victim said Clinkscales hit him repeatedly then took him into the living room and tied him up with a cord.

The victim finally told Clinkscales that the gun was in an outside shed. Clickscales then took the victim's iphone, laptop and keys to a Ford Mustang.

After going outside the victim freed himself and locked the doors.  Clinkscales attempted to get back in but was unsuccessful so he then left the area driving the victim’s car.

Deputies found a key in the door where Clinkscales entered the home.  They also found a key in the outside shed.
