The SC Festival of Flowers will again host a Photography Exhibition as a part of its 52nd annual SC Festival of Flowers celebration in Greenwood, SC. “This exhibition is a highly anticipated event for local and regional photographers. After a brief break, it was brought back in 2017 as part of the 50th anniversary celebration. It is a long-standing tradition of the Festival,” said Exhibition Chair Kendall Adams.
Two categories are open for competition, advanced and basic. Entries will be judged by qualified professional photographers prior to the show based on the print’s technical quality, aesthetic composition, emotional impact, and creative vision. All submitted prints should be mounted and single matted for acceptance and hanging in the show. There is a nominal fee of $20 for submission of up to 4 prints in one category.
Prints will be displayed at the Festival’s Photography Show on June 7 - 8, 2019 as part of the main Festival weekend activities. Friday viewing hours are 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday hours are 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The exhibition will be hosted at Think Tank on Main, 206 Main Street. New this year, participants will be able to sell their artwork during the Exhibition and the Festival’s Topiaries and Tastings event.
The last day to submit entries will be Friday, May 31. Entries should be dropped off at the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce, 110 Phoenix Street, Greenwood, SC 29646. For more information visit scfestivalofflowers.org or call (864) 889-9314.
