SC Rep. John McCravy recognized Piedmont Technical College Campus Police and Security officers for over 20 years of service on August 29, 2019.
The PTC Campus Police and Security are dedicated to ensuring that all of the students, faculty, staff, and guests are kept safe. Those who have served more than 20 years are: Chief Terry Ledford, 44 years, Officer William Jones, Jr., 33 years, Officer Michael D. Brown, 32 years, and Officer Curtis G. Killian, 20 years. McCravy awarded each of these officers with a certificate of commendation from the SC House of Representatives.
McCravy gave a heartfelt speech thanking each one of these officers for his service to Piedmont Technical College. “These officers oftentimes put their own lives on the line. Anything could happen on any given day, and they deserve much more recognition than they receive,” McCravy stated. He thanked these officers for their bravery and noble services to Greenwood County.
McCravy invites all law enforcement and first responding departments in Greenwood County to contact him when an employee reaches 20 years of service so he can officially recognize them.
