Attorney Timothy A. Clardy achieves Board Certification in Social Security Disability Law by The National Board of Trial Advocacy

The National Board of Trial Advocacy (NBTA) is pleased to announce that Timothy A. Clardy of the McCravy, Newlon, Sturkie and Clardy Law Firm has successfully achieved Board Certification as a Social Security Disability advocate. Rep. John McCravv of the McCravy, Newlon, Sturkie & Clardy Law Firm received his board certification in 2001. The NBTA was formed out of a strong conviction that both the law profession and its clients would benefit from an organization designed specifically to create an objective set of standards illustrating an attorney's experience and expertise in the practice of trial law.

Clardy is one of only 53 attorneys board certified in Social Security Disability nationally and one of only three certified in South Carolina. Approximately three percent of American lawyers are board certified, and Clardy is a member of a very select group who has taken the time to prove competence in their specialty area and earn board certification.

Clardy joins a growing number of trial attorneys that have illustrated their commitment to bettering the legal profession by successfully completing a rigorous application process and providing the consumer of legal services with an objective measure by which to choose qualified and experienced legal counsel.

The elaborate screening of credentials that all NBTA board certified attorneys must successfully complete includes: demonstration of substantial trial experience, submission of judicial and peer references to attest to their competency, attendance of continuing legal education courses, submission of legal writing documents, proof of good standing and passing of an examination.

Board Certification is the highest, most stringent, and most reliable honor an attorney can achieve. Board certifications are the only distinctions awarded by non-profit organizations. The NBTA as well as all board certifying organizations are committed to safeguarding the public’s ability to choose a good attorney.

Clardy earned his undergraduate degree in Marketing/Management from the University of South Carolina. He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Law. He is licensed to practice in all South Carolina trial and appellate courts as well as the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina and the U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. Clardy has been practicing law for over 13 years and has been an attorney at the McCravy, Newlon, Sturkie and Clardy Law Firm for the last three years. He is also a member of both the South Carolina Bar Association and the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives.

Clardy is proud to represent individuals across the upstate of South Carolina seeking Social Security Disability benefits with the McCravy, Newlon, Sturkie and Clardy Law Firm having offices in Anderson, Greenville, Greenwood, Laurens, Saluda, and Spartanburg.
