Velvet Brown Davis joins the law firm of Bacot & Padgett, LLC

The law firm of Bacot & Padgett, LLC, a general practice law firm in Uptown Greenwood, is pleased to announce that Velvet Brown Davis is joining the firm as an associate attorney practicing primarily in the area of real estate transactions.

“With the changing landscape that Greenwood’s legal community has experienced over the last few months, including the retirement of two attorneys dedicated to nothing but real estate transactions, the merging of Davis’ practice that includes working with local and regional banks, lenders, and real estate agents, and her diverse non-real estate client base with our firm was an obvious choice” said Adam Bacot, a member of the firm.

Tripp Padgett added, “I have closed a vast number of real estate transactions in the upstate over the last 16 years, and, from that experience, I have learned that Davis has a great working relationship with her clients, their lenders, and their agents.  We look forward to adding those relationships to our practice.”

Davis added, “Over the years, I have had many opportunities to work with Bacot and Padgett on many different types of cases.  They have always been knowledgeable and professional.  It is an honor to be able to associate myself and my client relationships with them.  I am extremely excited about joining the firm.”

The firm will continue its practice at 414 Monument Street, Suite C, Greenwood South Carolina.

Davis is a native of Greenwood, SC and a graduate of Ninety Six High School.  She graduated Lander University and earned her law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law.  She has been an active member of the South Carolina Bar and the Greenwood County Bar since 2002.  Davis has dedicated much of her practice on real estate transactions during her 16 years of practice.

She is married to Jeremy Davis.  They have four children and attend Ninety Six Pentecostal Holiness Church.  Davis enjoys watching her children play sports and spending time with her family.
