Tim Mooney presents "Breakneck Hamlet" on October 27

Described as epic, tragic and hilariously intelligent, Tim Mooney’s “Breakneck Hamlet” takes the stage on Thursday, Oct. 27 at Lander University. This one-man performance trims Shakespeare’s original four-hour play down to 60 minutes, revealing Hamlet as a man with a wicked sense of humor.

The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Josephine B. Abney Cultural Center Auditorium. Admission is free and open to the public. The show is FALS-approved for Lander students.

Candidate Forum set for Oct 25

Local residents will have a chance to meet Greenwood County political candidates at an event in Greenwood next week.

The Citizens for Better Government of Greenwood is organizing a Candidate Forum.  The event will be 7:00 p.m. October 25th at The American Legion Post 20, which is located at 806 Calhoun Ave, Greenwood, SC.

Republican and Democratic candidates will be in attendance.  Open to the public.

Glow Golf coming to Star Fort on Oct 21, after party with Becky Greene

The Golf Club at Star Fort is hosting the ultimate night golfing experience on Oct 21, 2016 at The Golf Club at Star Fort in Ninety Six SC. 

This is a 4 person scramble that includes 9 holes of golf, one glow ball and team prizes to be awarded after playing to the winners.  There is also a chance to win $5,000 Hole-In-One prize.

Abbeville, SC - The historic Abbeville Opera House is inviting you to tumble down the rabbit hole with Alice for some magical fun for the entire family.  The Abbeville Opera House is bringing to life the Broadway production from the early 1900’s,Alice in Wonderland, based on the 1863 Lewis Carroll story by the same name. First, I would want to let you know how much I have enjoyed serving you as your Laurens County Sheriff for these last sixteen years and I am very proud of the accomplishments we as a community working together have achieved. Having worked at the sheriff’s office my entire adult life (27 years) I have seen many changes take place.  Most of them have been something that we can be proud of and you are deserving of the credit.

The Greenwood Coalition of Veterans Organizations will be hosting the Annual Veterans Day Parade in Downtown Greenwood on Sunday November 6, 2016. The Parade is in honor of all Veterans.   If you or your organization are interested in participating in the Parade or the Post Parade Reception at the Veterans Center please contact the Parade Committee by email at gccvo2016@gmail.com for more information.  There are no fees required to participate in the Veterans Day Parade or Post Parade Reception.
