Send your Letter to the Editor to news@gwdtoday.com with "Letter to the Editor" in the subject line. Be sure to include your name and city of residence.

Dear Editor,

After viewing the recent debates, it is very clear that America is again at the crossroads politically.  On the one side we have the current President and his administration which is being challenged by the former Governor of Massachusetts.

I have not been very involved in politics and until recently.  Sure, I watched the debates on TV and occasionally voted, but politics always took a back set to the more pressing affairs of work and home.

Over the past several years, I have gotten more involved by contacting the state and federal representatives when issues demanded, voicing our opinions.  The political issues that are challenging our government today demand our attention, and we need to voice our opinions so that our legislators can respond to the citizens' wishes.  We must not forget that our elected officials work for us!

I urge all eligible voters to participate in the upcoming elections.  Our elected officials need to hear from us.  If you are not registered to vote, I would encourage you to register.  Remember that by not voting, we lose the ability to influence the direction of our nation.

Tim Pletcher

I wanted to thank Patrick for the great article he prepared and posted on the closing of our business, Sportsmman's Friend. It was rather bittersweet as we have made so many friends through our 34 years of business. However, it was time for retirement and enjoy our time withi families and friends. Thanks to all of our loyal customers and friends.

Glad to see more letters to the editor on GwdToday. This writer certainly makes a great point. We should all vote. It does make a difference. Not so crazy about the Electoral College however. Keep up the good work GwdToday!
