Letter to the Editor: To All "Haters"
Do you have something to share? Email your Letter to the Editor to News@gwdtoday.com Be sure to include your name and city of residence.

To all the "Haters" of we who are less fortunate, and of our President who, with a heart of empathy, offers a small token of help during these hard times....We pray that God will restore a spirit of love and tolerance to you.

To you who have not been adversely affected by this horrible recession, yet continually berate those of us who have....We are thankful for your good fortune, and ask that you pray for our recovery.

To you who seem to take offense when we, the less fortunate, express our gratitude and allegiance to God, our Country, and its leaders...We pray that God will remind you that "We The People" includes us.

If you didn't lose your dream home to foreclosure in 2007 because your income suddenly ceased to exist....You are Blessed.

If you didn't have to endure last winter with no electricity or running water....You are Blessed.

If you haven't had to live on faith through days without even the basic essentials, such as food or toilet paper....You are Blessed.

My husband and I have indeed endured these things, but with God's grace and the generosity of Genuinly Good People ....We are Blessed.

I say all of this because my heart is heavy to see a nation divided, families divided, friends divided.  We are all God's children.  Rich or poor, black or white, gay or straight, republican or democrat, we are all precious in His sight.

My prayer is that God will restore His spirit to our nation.  May he wake us all up to His will for America.  Let us all enjoy the "Pursuit of Happiness" and the American freedoms of which we so proudly speak.

Let us enjoy the right to bear arms...Let us not kill our unborn...Let us learn to respect those who love differently...Let us love unconditionally, as Jesus does.

Let it not be said of America..."She was defeated by a foreign enemy, who saw her weakness of division, and siezed the opportunity to destroy her".

I wonder if all the ones who did not agree with Bush policies were haters & without God? I wonder if any black persons who did not agree with Bush were racist? I wonder if all those who did not agree with Bush policies were dividers? I personally did not agree with Bush on a lot of issues either. I do not have a problem with helping people when they are down, (generosity of Genuinly Good People ) This is the key, people doing whats right because they choose to, knowing where they are giving & to whom. I agree as a country we need to overcome division & work together, but this will not be done by government, but by people. Too many now take advantage of a system that was meant to help those who need it. Too many want to get government to take away rights because they don't agree with them, etc........divsion? It comes form BOTH sides, President empathy? The health care system will be worse, the unemployment rate will be worse, the cost of energy will be worse, etc.........the rich will still be rich, the poor will still be poor (Money does not make anyone rich of course) & the middle will pay the bills as long as they can. The Bible also says be thankful in a little, be thankful & happy in all states of life, be you rich or poor, maybe that's the key, not to want what others have as much as being happy with what you already have. None will go hungry if they search out places to eat, none will be without shelter if they search out the places that provide it, etc......even the poor in this country are rich compared to other nations of poor. Look at N Korea where they are eating bodies now just to survive. I wonder how many who are down, when they get back up still go out & help others who are still down? Let it be God you depend on & not governments. I agree with you 100% , divided we will all fall & our enemies know it, so they do nothing but watch & laugh.
