Belk of Greenwood held a Re-Opening Ribbon Cutting Thursday morning to celebrate the completion of their extensive interior renovation.

Chamber President Angelle LaBorde said, "Congratulations are in order for store manager Susan Coats and all the employees of Belk of Greenwood at Greenwood Mall for the successful re-opening ceremony."

Dignitaries including Mayor Welborn Adams, Senator Floyd Nicholson and others gathered to offer best wishesand to thank Belk for its 72 year history in Greenwood.

Several former store managers were also on hand to mark the occasion as were a long line of loyal customers who braved chilly morning temperatures to get a first look inside and vie for a number of special discount coupons.

I think this is great for Greenwood, however, they really need to work on updating the exterior of Belk and JCPenney to match the newer stores. The newer exterior of the mall looks very fresh and inviting, but Belk looks very drab and boring. That's just my opinion.
