Leadership Expert to Address Chamber's Non-Profit Council

The Non-Profit Council of the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce is hosting its fourth quarterly meeting for area non-profit representatives on Wednesday, November 28, 2012, in The Hub Meeting Room at Grace Community Church, 1611 Woodlawn Rd.

Presented by The Self Family Foundation, this breakfast meeting will feature guest speaker Ellen S. Stevenson, M.S.Ed, owner of Optimal Performance, an organization and leadership development consulting business with clients in business, educational and non-profit sectors.

Her program topic, “Board Recruitment and Development,” will provide information regarding effectiveness in composing and developing board members, which is essential to the success of a nonprofit organization.

Ms. Stevenson has more than 30 years of experience in management and organizational development in a variety of positions and has addressed national and international groups in locations across the US, Canada, and Europe.She holds a BS degree from Cornell University and a MS in Education from Marywood University.  She and her associates have decades of experience working with non-profit organizations in both staff and board leadership roles.

 “The Chamber’s Non-Profit Council addresses the needs of our local agencies,” said Angelle LaBorde, Chamber President & CEO.  “We offer quarterly programming, such as this upcoming meeting with Ms. Stevenson, and valuable peer-to-peer connections.

Registration begins at 8:15 a.m., followed by the program from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m.  The cost to attend this meeting is $5.00, and pre-registration is encouraged.  Organizations are encouraged to invite board members.
