GREENWOOD, SC - The Greenwood Genetic Center (GGC) is hosting a photography exhibition by Ben Geer Keys of Greenville. Keys, former president of Keys Printing in Greenville, is an avid outdoorsman and gifted photographer.
Since retiring from the printing business, he spends much of his time hiking in the Southern Appalachian Mountains photographing the wildflowers, waterfalls and mountain vistas. A collection of many of his beautiful photographs is currently on display at JC Self Research Institute on the Genetic Center campus.
In addition to time spent hiking and taking photographs, Keys is active in the Upstate community. He is a longtime Friend of the Greenwood Genetic Center, serving on its Board of Directors from 1996-2001 and is currently a Trustee of the Genetics and Birth Defects Research Foundation. He also volunteers with numerous environmental and conservation groups.
“It’s a passion for the natural world that’s hard to express in words,” explains Keys of his love of the outdoors. “As I read somewhere recently, if I could express it in words, I wouldn’t have to lug this camera around!”
Keys’ exhibition is free and open to the public through the end of February during regular business hours. His work is also available for viewing and purchase at Keys Natural Images www.keysni.com.
