Five students in Lander University’s Department of Mass Communication and Theatre have been selected to direct one-act plays as a means of demonstrating what they have learned in class. The six productions are scheduled for Sunday through Tuesday, April 5-7.
Students selected their own one-act scripts, which will feature student actors.
The directors are Mary Evans Giles, of Greenwood; Lauren Ballington, of Chesnee; Nikolas Blocker, of Greenwood; Eric Johnson, of Mauldin; and Cole Strickland, of Florence.
Because of content, the plays are recommended for mature audiences only. The productions will be held in Room 220 in Lander’s Josephine B. Abney Cultural Center beginning at 8 p.m. each evening. The Sunday afternoon show will begin at 3 p.m. The public is invited but seating is limited and tickets are required for admission. Tickets will be available at the box office in Johnston Commons prior to each performance.
