Dr. Holisa C. Wharton, Professor and Dean of Lander University School of nursing spoke at Ninety Six High School for a Black History Program on Monday, Feb 27. Dr. Wharton addressed students in a packed gymnasium with her colorful demonstration of the dwindling student population and low graduation rates across the nation of all males, but especially the black male population.
Dr. Wharton encouraged Ninety Six High School students to read and to dream and to not make excuses for failures, but to find solutions. Dr. Wharton also told students that there were two things that once you have no one could ever take away from you they were 1. Your faith and 2. Knowledge that you obtain.
