This past weekend the Ninety Six High School Indoor Percussion Band took first place in the 2017 CWEA (Carolina Winter Ensemble Association) Percussion/Winds Championship held in Rock Hill, SC.
NS Indoor Percussion earned first place with a score of 85.200 with their performance New York.
Their show highlights key historical events including the prohibition, 911 tragedy to a New Year’s Celebration at the end. It also features massive props including a 48ft long, 6ft high stage with buildings representing the twin towers standing 22 feet high!
Just a couple week ago the NS Indoor Percussion won their 3rd consecutive state championship with this show. Now they have their sights set on the WGI World Championship in Dayton Ohio come April 20-22.
The band members along with the booster club and parents have been raising fund for this trip for months now. As always the community has been very supportive but they still need some funds to cover all their expenses.
On Saturday, April 1 from 11am-2pm they are having a FISH FRY at the Ninety Six Depot. Plates will be $8 each including fried flounder (or pulled pork bbq), baked beans, cole slaw, bread and dessert. Please come out and show your support and enjoy some great tasting food while doing it.
Also please invite your family and friends to visit their GoFundMe page and donate as well.
