The Piedmont Technical College chapter of Phi Beta Lambda has been selected as the host college for the organization’s 2017 State Leadership Conference.
Guest speakers for the state conference are Sharon Elwood, account manager for Morris Business Solutions of Greenville, and Abdullah El-Amin, a recruiter for Verizon Wireless of Greenville.
Phi Beta Lambda is a national association of students preparing for careers in business and business-related fields. The state leadership conference provides the opportunity for students to network with other students and business people, listen to motivating public speakers, attend informative and interactive workshops and campaign for state office.
In addition to the learning experience, students are given the chance to showcase their skills in various business-related areas by competing in one of several different competitive events, ranging from banking and financial systems to job interview. Performing well at the state conference allows members to take it to the next level by attending the National Leadership Conference. The top two winners of each of the competitive events at the state conference are eligible to compete at the National Leadership Conference in Anaheim June 24-27.
The state conference will be held Saturday, April 8. More than 10 schools are scheduled to be in attendance from 2-year and 4-year institutions.
