District Office Front Receptionist Bettye Smoot was recognized at the September Board of Trustees meeting with a Certificate of Appreciation for 50 years of hard work and service in Greenwood School District 50.
Mrs. Smoot began working in District 50 as a receptionist on September 11, 1967. During her 50 years in District 50, she has served as the first face and voice of the Administrative Offices.
“There has been a lot of things that have changed in Greenwood School District 50 since I became Superintendent,” Dr. Darrell Johnson stated. “But one constant has been the first face you see and the first voice you hear when you enter our Administrative Offices. On behalf of the Board of Trustees, Administration, and Community, I would like to say Thank You for blessing us with your voice, spirit, and presence for 50 years...AND THEN SOME!”
Smoot received a special certificate from Board Chairman Shell Dula and a standing ovation from the audience.
