During the January Board of Trustees meeting, District 50 Board members were recognized as special superheroes in honor of Board Recognition Month.
District 50 joined with school districts throughout the state to celebrate School Board Recognition Month in January. More than 600 locally elected and appointed school board members throughout the state will be recognized by schools and communities for their service and dedication to public education.
Along with their certificates, Board members also received special gifts from middle and high schools at the meeting. Board members will also visit elementary schools for a special visit.
In the picture, (L to R) Vice Chairman Tony Bowers and Board Member Claude Wright stood with Board Chairman Shell Dula for a special recognition at the meeting. Board Chairman Dula recognized Wright and Bowers for their years of hard work and dedicated service to the D50 Board of Trustees. Wright was recognized for 10 years of service and Bowers was recognized for 15 years of service to the Board.
