This afternoon, a few minutes before dismissal, Woodfields school administration received a report regarding a bomb threat written on a girls bathroom wall.
School administration immediately contacted law enforcement and district officials. Law enforcement and school administration worked together to complete a thorough search of the building and investigation of the incident. Nothing out of the ordinary was found.
After completing their investigation, a Woodfields student was identified as the student who made the bomb threat. The Woodfields student was charged by law enforcement and will be disciplined in accordance with the Student Rights and Responsibilities handbook.
“We appreciate the swift response of law enforcement and school administration in handling this situation,” Superintendent Darrell Johnson stated. “We take these matters very seriously. We are committed to providing a safe learning environment for our students and staff.”
We encourage parents to stress to their children the seriousness of these threats. The consequences are severe. We do not tolerate this type of behavior in our school district; if identified students will be disciplined according to the Greenwood School District 50 policy and prosecuted by the law.
