In March, three Greenwood School District 50 students participated in All-State band activities. The following students and instructors were recognized at the May Board meeting for their success:

Marqual Littlejohn ~ Northside Middle School

Northside Band Instructor Vernon Clamp

Eric Gardner ~ Emerald High School

Emerald Band Instructor Stephan Botchie

Thomas McCoy-Bruce ~ Greenwood High School

GHS Band Instructor ~ Anthony Gaskin

Each year the South Carolina Band Directors Association sponsors an All-State Band Clinic made up of three bands. The bands are the Senior All-State Band (grades 11-12), Clinic All-State Band (grades 9-10), and the Junior All-State Band (grades 6-8).

Marqual, Eric, and Thomas were among five thousand students from around the state of South Carolina that auditioned and became members of this distinguished group.
