Hodges, Mathews, Westview and Greenwood High School will have new faces on their administrative teams for the 2019-2020 school year.
Courtney Thomas will be the Assistant Principal at Hodges Elementary next year. Thomas has worked in District 50 as a teacher at Springfield and Westview for the last eleven years. Thomas obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Lander University and received her Masters of Education degree from Clemson University.
Shekeila Fisher has been named as the new Assistant Principal at Mathews Elementary School.
Last year, Fisher completed her fifth year in District 50 as a 4th grade teacher at Woodfields Elementary School. During her 10 years in education, Fisher has served as an elementary school teacher in District 50, Anderson School District 5, and Saluda County School District. Fisher graduated from Lander University in 2008 and went on to earn a Masters of Science degree in Educational Administration from Capella University.
Chris Deal will be the Assistant Principal at Westview Middle School. Deal has worked as a social studies and physical education teacher at Emerald High School for six years. Deal has over 24 years of experience in public education serving as a teacher and football coach at high schools in South Carolina and North Carolina. Deal received his Bachelor’s degree from Lenior-Rhyne University and his Masters of Education degree in Educational Leadership from the American College of Education in Indiana.
Gary Stone has been named as the new Assistant Principal at Greenwood High School. Stone has served as a social studies teacher at Dixie High School for the last 15 years. During his tenure at the school, he also worked as a teacher cadet instructor and athletic coach. Stone obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from The Citadel and his Masters degree from Converse College. In 2018, Stone received his Master of Education degree in Administration and Supervision from the University of South Carolina.
