Fatal Shooting Suspect Mentioned in Drug Bust

GREENWOOD, SC – The Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office arrested four people for allegedly manufacturing meth, but those accused of the crimes say that Heath Hollingsworth, the suspect involved in a fatal shooting in Waterloo, placed items in a burn barrel at the residence.

According to a report from the Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to 112 Haze Road in Greenwood just after 10:30 p.m. Wednesday in response to a drug complaint. The report states that one deputy made contact with Tricia Niccole Bowick, 27, while another deputy went around back and observed a burn barrel containing items consistent with the manufacturing of meth.

When the first deputy entered the home he encountered Charles Edward Bowick, 57, Samuel McLane Todd, 51, and Larry Lee Gaines, 48. Todd, the homeowner, told the deputies that no one in the house had been making meth, but that Heath Hollingsworth, the man now charged with murder in the shooting death of Bill Ardis early Thursday morning in Waterloo, had come by earlier asking to use the burn barrel.

Deputies obtained consent to search the home from Todd and discovered a multitude of items used in the manufacturing process throughout the house in addition to digital scales and several different plastic bags containing meth in varying quantities. Deputies also discovered about 50 unused syringes and two syringes filled with a brownish liquid in a freezer. Tricia Bowick told deputies that the two syringes were hers and that they contained a mixture of meth and blood where she had attempted to shoot up, but could not find a vein, according to the report.

Tricia Bowick and Larry Gaines have been charged with manufacturing methamphetamines, improper disposal of methamphetamine waste and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamines.

Charles Bowick and Samuel Todd have been charged with manufacturing methamphetamines and improper disposal of methamphetamine waste.

i can guarantee you that i nor my family knew there was meth being made, used or distributed. so you may as well stop with things you have no idea about. I m not playing a victim here so re read what i said. it is a crime and they deserve what they get but to me in my opinion the article was written tackily. the index journal did a good job with the article. this is a place to post our opinions correct.... so i did just that. I am not a victim i am a grown adult as are my other brothers and sisters however my 75 year old grandmother that raised us and my neice and nephews that have been exposed to certain details are. like i said in MY OPINION this was a distastefully written article.

I just really can't believe that you had no idea your family was not only using but cooking meth. If you're so close to your family that you would go to bat for them publicly bc you feel the details were unnecessary then you're obviously close to some degree with them. I know if my family was doing something like that I would know. So playing the victim really isn't working for you. Meth is tearing families and this county apart instead of justifying what your family did maybe you should realize that they were part of one of the biggest problems. All the people that commented on here had no idea who you were so there should have been no embarrassment to you but you comment worrying about the details more than the fact that they were distributing meth throughout the county. Get real.

OF course im embarassed as is my whole family and everyone else's families that are invovled. As you would be. And you're right again they were not thinking of the children or families and lijke i said before they are wrong and deserve the punishment they recieve. however I FEEL this article was tackily written. I still FEEL there was no need to go into certain details. The index Journal did a write up on this incident and did a good job. i never said this shouldn't have been reported or talked about @ Carol. yes they are and the crime should be repopted on and talked about for everyone to see. What they did was wrong and they know that as well as we all do. but i support my opinion this article was tackily written and very low class. @ William i appreciate the prayers. yes my family and i need them everyday not just bc of this.

Becky, I would be more concerned with what my Father and sister were doing instead of the facts being reported. What kind of Father would get his daughter involved in such activity unless he is a meth head who has no morals. I question were you furious about the facts being reported, as they should, or were you embarrassed that your Father and sister have been exposed as meth heads and dealers. As for exposing details to family members and children is total BULL as none of the people involved were thinking of the children when they made the choice to be a dealer and affect other people. I suggest that you seek help for your family and I wish you the best as you really need it.

@t Becky, GWToday reports news as it is given to them. When other people commit crimes they report that also. WHAT MAKES YOU THINK THAT YOUR SISTER AND FATHER ARE ANY DIFFERENT. IF THEY ARE METH HEADS, THAT IS WHAT THEY ARE.
