Thanks for reading GwdToday - Everyday!

A man riding a motorcycle was airlifted after he was struck by a vehicle on Calhoun Road at Langley Road, near Harris Plant.

The accident occurred at about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday night. A 2000 Land Rover was stopped at a stop sign heading west on Langley Road at Calhoun Road. The motorcycle was travelling west on Calhoun Road when the Land Rover attempted to make a left turn onto Calhoun Road, striking the motorcycle.

The driver of the Land Rover, a 25-year-old Atlanta man, was not injured in the accident. The man riding the motorcycle, a 35-year-old Greenwood man, was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and was airlifted to Greenville Memorial Hospital to receive treatment for his injuries.

The driver of the Land Rover was charged with failure to yield right of way.

Lets all hope and pray that he will be okay. Good to know he wore a helmet.

I'll say it, the driver of the Land Rover was NOT out to hit someone on a motorcycle. It was simply an accident at this point in the investigation and the details will come out soon enough.
