Traffic was slowed near Emerald High School just before 4 p.m. Thursday afternoon after a car caught on fire on Calhoun Road.
A green Chevy Blazer could be seen smoking on the side of the road as firefighters worked to extinguish the fire. Crews had one lane completely blocked on the northbound side of Calhoun Road near the intersection of Crescent Road, about a mile north of Emerald High School.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
South Carolina Highway Patrol, Promised Land Volunteer Fire Department and Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office responded to the incident.
