Authorities seized hundreds of name brand knock-off items worth tens of thousands of dollars during a raid just before Christmas.
Demetrius Antonio Andrews, 42, of 114 Cole St., has been charged with counterfeiting in connection with the incident.
According to a Greenwood police report, GPD detectives were joined by agents with the Greenwood County Drug Enforcement Unit for a Dec. 23 raid on a local business believed to be selling knock-off items. Officers went to T-Shirts and Accessories, located at 704 Milwee Ave., and seized more than $80,000 worth of name brand knock-off items, including purses, wallets and boots. Brand names included Michael Kors, Nike, North Face and Timberland.
A private investigator advised that all North Face and Timberland items seized from the business were counterfeit, the report said.
A number of items were located at Andrews’ residence and officers seized a 2012 Dodge Ram truck and 2014 Chevrolet Camaro in the raid, according to the report.
