Bar fight leads to parking lot shooting

Greenwood City Police arrest a man in connection with the parking lot shooting that occurred on Dec 17, 2016 at the South Main Bar and Grill. 

Demarcus Kenywell Barr, 27 was arrested and charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

According to reports, Barr and the victim started fighting each other inside the bar.  After both were made to leave, the victim was shot twice in the leg by someone in a white Lexus.  Witnesses identified Barr as the passenger and the one who fired two shots hitting the victim in the leg.

Police apprehended Barr on Jan 9, 2017 around 10:30 pm after police received information that Barr was at a residence on Jones Street in Greenwood.  Police witness Barr enter the passenger side of a vehicle driven by a female later identified as 32 year old Demetris Deanna Cunningham of 5308 Todd Quarter Road, Waterloo SC.  They also had a child in the back seat.

When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver refused to stop.  Barr finally gets out of the car and runs from the police.  During the chase, police witness Barr reaching into his pants pockets.  Police later find that Barr had tossed a semi-automatic pistol between two trees. 

Cunninham drove pass the officers once again and they ordered her to stop the vehicle.  They also placed Cunninham under arrest and charged her with failure to stop for a blue light, failure to stop on lawful command and child endangerment.
