The Board of Palmetto Christian Academy of Greenwood announced the hiring of David Douglas of Athens, Georgia as the new Head of School.
Mr. Douglas is originally from Chattanooga, Tennessee. He received his Masters in Education Administration from Columbia International University. He was previously high school principal for Southside Christian School in Greenville, SC. He was most recently headmaster of Heritage Academy (now Lanier Christian Academy) near Gainesville, Georgia. Mr. Douglas has 27 years of experience in Christian education serving as a headmaster, athletic director, high school and middle school principal, teacher, and consultant. He has served as chair of multiple accreditation teams across the southeast and served on the ACSI SE Accreditation Commission from 2011–2016.
Mr. Douglas has strong connections to Greenwood. His father, William Douglas, was a native of Greenwood and a graduate of Greenwood High School. For many years, Mr. Douglas visited family and interacted with the community.
Mr. Douglas was unanimously chosen from a strong field of nationwide candidates. Chairman of the Board, Dr. Randy Cain said, “We are excited about this new phase of growth and leadership at Palmetto Christian Academy. Mr. Douglas has the character, experience, love for Christian education, and desire to help students succeed that we were seeking to help us reach the next level of achievement at PCAG.”

Palmetto Christian Academy of Greenwood opened in 2008 as an independent private Christian school providing an education for students K3 through 12th grade. It is accredited through SCISA and AdvancEd, and is located at 308 Deadfall Road, Greenwood SC. A reception to welcome Mr. Douglas will be held at the school on Friday, July 21 from 6 to 8 PM. The public is welcome.
