The Greenwood SC Chamber’s September 8th Morning Blend program will feature City of Greenwood Manager Charlie Barrineau who will provide an update on the Greenwood Pedestrian & Bicycle Master Plan. The Greenwood Pedestrian & Bicycle Master Plan was developed in 2015 in association with Eat Smart Move More Greenwood to facilitate wellness and healthy lifestyles. Two projects will be discussed, and include the West Cambridge bike trail project and the Carolina Ave. Connector. Both projects were included in the recent capital project sales tax referendum.
According to the plan summary, objectives of the project are to create a network of trails that would attract cyclists to Greenwood, thus promoting additional economic and tourism development. Having a trail network will enhance the health and well-being of the city's citizens, as well as improve the community's attractiveness to prospective businesses, employees, and visitors.
The program will be held on Sept. 8 at the Inn on the Square,104 East Court Avenue, in Uptown Greenwood with registration beginning at 7:30 a.m. The program starts at 8:00 a.m. and lasts until 9:15 a.m. The cost is $15 for Chamber members and $20 for non-members. To register, visit GreenwoodSCchamber.org or call (864) 223-8431, ext. 221.
