Thanksgiving is a wonderful time of year for families to come together and enjoy a wonderful meal to celebrate their many blessings; however, some families are not as fortunate.
This year marks the 16th anniversary for the Neil “Gobbler” Cost Chapter of the NWTF to donate 100 frozen turkeys to local Greenwood charities. This year the following charities were chosen to receive turkeys: Food Bank, Soup Kitchen, Salvation Army, Megs House, Bowers Rodgers, Connie Maxwell, and Faith Home.
With the donation of 100 turkeys this year, the chapter has now donated around 23,500 lbs. of turkey to our local charities over the past 16 years. We would like to thank BI - LO for helping us organize the purchasing of the turkeys, and for all the many wonderful NWTF supporters who purchased fundraiser tickets and attended our banquet to help our organization give back to our community.
The Greenwood Chapter works not only on a national and state level for wildlife conservation and protecting our hunting heritage , but also gives back to our local community by hosting Jakes events for youth, Wheelin Sportsman events for the disabled, Women In the Outdoors and sponsoring Venison for the Hungry in our area . Thanks to our loyal supporters & volunteers for making this and other programs possible!
