School resource officers arrested a student at Greenwood High School after investigating a robbery that occurred in the restroom.
Tyre Alfonso Evans, 17 of 131 Russell Street was arrested and charged with strong arm robbery on Wednesday, Nov 29, 2017.
According to the police report, Evans approached another student while using the restroom and reached into his pocket. After a brief struggle Evans was able to retrieve some cash money and ripping one of the bills in half. The victim was left with one half of the bill.
School resource officers investigated the incident and found that Evans had 207 dollars in his shirt pocket along with a ripped one hundred dollar bill. That half matched the half that the victim had in both rip pattern and bill serial numbers.
Evans claims that he did not take the money but seen some other, unknown male take the money from the victim.
Evans was arrested and charged with strong arm robbery and transported to the Greenwood County Detention Center.
