LaToya Roundtree, a SNAP and TANF program coordinator in the Greenwood County DSS office, is the Economic Services Employee of the Month for November.
According to her nomination, Roundtree “continuously finds ways to motivate and inspire the Economic Services staff. She has made serving our clients the top priority while balancing the importance of office morale and staff accountability. Roundtree’s continuing pursuit of greatness and improvement has made her an essential addition to an already strong ES Leadership staff.”
As she has only been in her position eight months, Roundtree was surprised to be selected.
“It feels good to be recognized for the work that I do,” she said. “I am so thankful my staff have been open to changes that have been brought to the office, and they have been diligently working to meet our goals. I wouldn’t be here without them.”
She manages SNAP and TANF programs to make sure policy and procedures are adhered to in the office.
“I also focus on bringing forth a positive atmosphere in our office,” Roundtree said. “I have a big heart, and I have always loved helping people. In my current position, I’m always helping our clients anyway I can and assisting staff when needed. I love the feeling of being able to support people when I can, not just at work.”
Staff chosen as the Employee of the Month Program are awarded with lunch with the State Director along with other honorees, a dedicated parking space, a photo and write up displayed at State Office and a write-up sent to their community newspaper.
Other November winners included: Becky Bonavida, a Child Protective Services performance coach for Region 5; Glenise Elmore, interim state human resources director; and Todd Wilkins, a state information and systems business analyst.
