Greenwood City Police arrested a man after receiving calls of someone firing shots at the Burger King on South Main Street in Greenwood.
Just before 8 a.m., officers responded to a dispute at that location and were told that the suspect fired a gun into the air before leaving the property on foot.
Officers began investigating and looking for the suspect, who later called 9-1-1 and told officers that he wanted to surrender himself. The suspect was arrested in a wooded area nearby without incident. Nobody was injured in the incident.
Marcus Antwan Manick, 32, of Greenwood, SC was arrested and is charged with Pointing and Presenting a Firearm and Unlawful Carry of a Handgun.
Matthews Elementary School was briefly placed on lock down just after 8AM because of the suspect's close proximity to the campus, but the lock down was lifted as soon as he was apprehended.
