17-year-olds who will turn 18-years-old on or before the date of the General Election may register to vote in the June 12th Primaries. Also, 16 and 17 year olds can work at the polls and earn $135.00 for completing a training class and working on Election Day.
Individuals who reach the age of 18 on or before November 6th, 2018 (General Election), and who are otherwise qualified to register to vote, may register and be eligible to vote in the June 12th Primaries.
State law allows for this practice since the Primaries are the nominating process for the General Election, making each, in effect, parts of the same election.
We encourage all eligible citizens to register and to vote. The last day to register to vote in the June 12th Primaries is May 11th in-office, May 13th via email or fax. Any voter registration application postmarked by May 14th will be processed for voting in the June 12th Primaries. The last day to register to vote in the November 6th General Election is October 5th in-office, October 7th via email or fax. Any voter registration application postmarked by October 9th will be processed for voting in the November 6th General Election.
