The Epsilon Gamma Gamma Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. held its annual Mardi Gras Scholarship Ball, Saturday, May 26th at 8:00PM at the John G. Lamb Center in Greenwood. Each year the brothers of Epsilon Gamma Gamma (EGG) give out five (5) one thousand dollar scholarships to a high school senior in each of the surrounding counties; Greenwood, Abbeville, McCormick, Saluda and Newberry.
The fraternity holds an annual scholarship ball to raise money to continue to fund the scholarship and to help with community programs in the area. EGG is proud to announce that Ms. Gwendolyn Booker is the 2018 Miss Omega Queen contestant winner. Queens are crowed based on the amount of fund raising they did as well as the team members. As the Queen of Mardi Gras, she will represent the chapter in a host of Fraternity activities. Ms. Booker represented Greenwood County and she will hold this distinct honor until the 2019 Mardi Gras Ball.
