Crossroads Celebrates 30th Anniversary

Twenty-one churches were represented during Crossroads’ recent banquet celebrating its 30th anniversary. Approx. 200 guests gathered on October 23rd at Rice Memorial Church to support this vital ministry. Founded in 1988 Greenwood’s crisis pregnancy center has saved countless lives by serving women who are experiencing unplanned pregnancies. The center provides support through advice, education, referral and material assistance in order to help young women choose life.

Unity pervaded the banquet as denominations put aside their differences for a greater good. Representative John Mc Cravy presented CPC with a State House Resolution recognizing the ministry’s work for the past 30 years. Keynote speaker Travis Agnew, lead pastor of Rocky Creek Baptist Church in Greenville, SC spoke inspiringly of the imprint of God’s image on every human being. While the banquet can be called a great success, even more initiatives are underway to make Crossroads more effective:

  • A 24 hour hotline in English and Spanish has just been implemented.

  • A Director of Operations was hired on Oct. 1, 2018.

  • Knights of Columbus are raising money for an ultrasound machine.

  • A satellite is planned for Abbeville in 2019.
