Hundreds gathered at the Oct. 30 Upper Savannah Regional Job Fair at Piedmont Technical College (PTC) in Greenwood represented all ages, shapes, colors and styles. Yet they shared one thing in common ― a keen interest in new employment opportunities that are anticipated based on regional industry growth and expansion.
More than 70 companies and organizations that are actively hiring were represented at the event, including Teijin, Lonza, ACS Manufacturing, Michelin, Self Regional Healthcare, Fujifilm, several law enforcement agencies, the U.S. Army and Greenville Health System.
“I think that it was a very well-attended event, and we were able to interact with a number of good candidates,” said Lauren Malone, human resources manager with Teijin Carbon Fibers. “I really enjoyed getting to meet so many potential candidates from a wide range of backgrounds and work experiences.”
The job-seekers in attendance, as well as the curious employed, had many questions for Teijin representatives.
“The questions were mostly in regards to our hiring schedule and availability of applications for those jobs,” Malone said. “I was able to share the hiring plan for positions to the prospective individuals based on what areas they were interested in working and additionally direct them to the readySC™ website at www.sctechjobs.com, where our positions will be posted. We are looking forward to attending the next event in spring 2019!”
