Greenwood County Sheriff Office arrested one man after investigating the theft of two vehicles from a residence in Bradley, SC.
James Vernon Bellflower Jr., 53 of 612 Nations Road, Hodges SC was arrested and charged with two counts of vehicle theft.
According to the police report the owner of a 1998 Ford Ranger and 1985 F-150 reported them stolen on Feb 12, 2019 from a prior residence he once had in Bradley SC. The property owner where the vehicles were at in Bradley gave the owner permission to leave the vehicles there after moving out until the owner could find a new location for them.
Investigators found that the vehicles had been delivered to C&C Recycling Center in Greenwood by Bellflower on Jan 28, 2019 and he signed a SCDMV affidavit of disposal as the lawful owner of the vehicles. Bellflower received $194.40 for the 1998 Ford Ranger and $204.60 for the 1985 F-150 whereas the owner valued them together totalling $5,000.
When investigators arrived at C&C Recycling Center on Feb 14, 2019, both vehicle had already been processed and crushed. Warrants were issued for Bellflower’s arrest.
