The Connect Young Professionals, the Greenwood Chamber’s premier young professional’s organization, will welcome Katie Davenport, Executive Director of The Greenwood Promise, as their featured speaker at their “Monthly Mingle” luncheon on July 15.
“Greenwood’s young professionals care about community’s economic future and providing educational opportunities to our youth,” said Angelle LaBorde, Chamber CEO. “Our future leaders are eager to learn about The Greenwood Promise and how it offers tuition assistance for those seeking an associate’s degree,” she said.
Katie Davenport graduated from Ninety-Six High School and is a Clemson University graduate. A former educator, she holds two masters degrees in education, specializing in Elementary and Secondary Administration and Supervision. She worked as the 6th and 7th Grade STEMS Science Teacher for Greenwood District 50; where she was selected as 2017-2018 Teacher of the Year at Westview Middle School.
Katie is also active within the community. She is a member of the Rotary Club of Greenwood, a volunteer at Hospice Care of the Piedmont’s Hospice House and serves on the Board of Directors for the Humane Society of Greenwood.
The program begins at 12:00 noon at Howard’s on Main, 330 Main Street, and is designed to bring together young adults, ages 21 – 40, for an informative presentation and new connections. The meeting is open to newcomers and young professionals.
