Countybank and Greenwood Capital pledged $30,814 in their annual Pacesetter Campaign to the United Way of Greenwood and Abbeville Counties earlier this month. Associates from both organizations pledged to contribute $20,814, while Countybank Foundation gave $10,000 to the campaign. These contributions further community capabilities within the Upstate and the long-standing relationship between the companies and the nonprofit organization.

“Our team is grateful for the trusted relationship we built over the past 40 years with Countybank and Greenwood Capital and for their continuous support through associate giving opportunities like the Pacesetter Campaign,” said Merisel Losa, President and CEO of United Way of Greenwood and Abbeville Counties. “We are excited to see how these funds will bring prosperity to our programs and community benefit organizations.”

Countybank and Greenwood Capital hold an annual Pacesetter Campaign to support local services and programs focusing on education, financial stability, health, and basic needs throughout Greenwood and Abbeville counties. Countybank supports United Way through many volunteer opportunities, including a monthly “Casual for a Cause” fundraiser, annual participation in United Way’s Day of Action, volunteering for the Stuff the Bus program, and donating school supplies.

“Partnering with United Way allows us to give back to our community, and we are excited to support them in making the Upstate a better place to live,” said David Tompkins, Senior Vice President, Greenwood Market Executive of Countybank. “Through volunteer work and donations, associates can invest in their community and work alongside our friends from other local organizations.”

“The United Way and Greenwood Capital have been long-standing partners in serving Greenwood and the surrounding communities,” said John Cooper, Private Client Advisor for Greenwood Capital who also serves on the United Way of Greenwood and Abbeville Counties Board. “We truly appreciate what United Way does and are honored to help Marisel and her talented team continue improving the quality of life of those they serve. We look forward to many years of successful collaboration.”

The United Way of Greenwood and Abbeville Counties serves its respective communities and fundraises through employee campaigns, grant funding, and corporate and private donations. It provides struggling families with financial assistance and support programs that address food insecurity, childhood literacy and healthcare access.
