Free "Patriots' BBQ" To Honor First Responders and Veterans

A Patriots’ BBQ will be held on November 7, 2019 at 5:30 p.m. at the Greenwood Farmer’s Market near the Civic Center. The sole purpose of the event is to honor first responders and veterans. The non-political event is free and open to the public with a large crowd expected. The event is organized by the Patriots’ BBQ Committee and hosted by Rep. John McCravy. They are hoping to make a positive impact by honoring those who serve our community, state, and nation.

Guests and dignitaries who will be attending include the SC Adjutant General, SC State Guard Commander, SC Fire Marshal, SC President of Fraternal Order of Police, SC Highway Patrol Troop 2 Commander, SCDNR Region First Sgt., Greenwood County Sheriff, Greenwood City Fire Chief, Volunteer Fire Department Chiefs, and EMS and SCDC representatives.

A Life Flight EMS helicopter will be called in by the Northwest Volunteer Fire Department at approximately 5:15 p.m. followed by delicious BBQ and hot dogs with the best fixings and patriotic music from the Ware Shoals High School band. McCravy will recognize local veterans and first responders and highlight some of their heroic acts of bravery.

The following sponsors have made this event possible: The Index-Journal, Re/Max Action Realty, David A. Crotts & Associates, Inc., Hunters’ Headquarters, Heating & Cooling Solutions, Inc., Billy J. Garrett Mediation Center, Emerald Ink & Stitches, and McCravy, Newlon & Sturkie Law Firm, P.A.

Please RSVP to the event on Rep. John McCravy’s Facebook page or by calling 864-388-9100.
