Lander's Dotson earns first-team All-American honors

Senior Halle Dotson has been named a first-team AVCA Division II All-Region, it was announced today by the coaches' association.

Dotson is the fifth Lander volleyball player to earn an All-American honors from the AVCA. The Titusville, Fla, native hit a team-high .237 with 426 kills (3.55/set) and 89 total blocks, while leading the Peach Belt Conference with 1,248 total attacks.

Washington hits winning three as Lander rallies past Erskine

JR Washington hit a 3-pointer with 31 seconds left as the Lander Bearcats outscored Erskine 24-9 over the game's final nine minutes, outlasting their rival Flying Fleet 67-64 Thursday night at Horne Arena.

Reynolds, Johnson lead Lander past Erskine, 89-46

Ty'hesha Reynolds scored 30 points and teammate Breshay Johnson was eight for eight from the floor as the Lander Lady Bearcats extended their winning streak over Erskine to 13 games, beating the Lady Fleet 89-46 Thursday night at Horne Arena.

Lander men's soccer to host winter ID camp

The Lander men's soccer program will host a winter ID camp on January 14, 2017, at Van Taylor Stadium. High school juniors and seniors are eligible to attend. (Register)

Campers will enjoy a two training sessions, lunch, a guided tour of the Lander University campus and a recruiting seminar.

Lander rolls over Warren Wilson

SWANNANOA, N.C. - The Lander women's basketball team had seven different players score in double-figures as the Bearcats defeated Warren Wilson, 128-59, on Sunday afternoon in a non-conference game in Devries Gymnasium. 

Lander improves to 3-2 overall, while the Owls drop to 4-6.

Livingstone pulls away from Lander at Horne Classic

GREENWOOD – JR Washington scored 24 points, but the Lander Bearcats fell behind early and lost to Livingstone College 80-69 Saturday afternoon in the final game of the Finis Horne Holiday Classic Friday at Horne Arena.

Lander fell to 2-3 on the season while the Blue Bears improved to 2-2.

Lander comes up short against Johnson C. Smith

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Breshay Johnson scored 29 points and collected 14 rebounds, but Johnson C. Smith held off Lander, 81-72, in the Courtyard Classic at Converse College on Saturday afternoon.

Lander falls to 2-2 on the season, while Johnson C. Smith improves to 4-1.

Lander men's basketball defeats King in road battle, 87-83

BRISTOL, Tenn. – The Lander men's basketball team went on a 17-8 run over the final nine minutes on Saturday afternoon as the Bearcats earned their first-ever win over King, defeating the Tornado 87-83.  

The Bearcats improve to 2-1 on the year, while King falls to 1-3.

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Breshay Johnson poured in a game-high 24 points Friday evening to lead five Bearcats in double figures en route to a 91-49 non-conference victory over Converse in the Courtyard Classic.

Lander volleyball falls to FMU in PBC quarterfinals

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Lander volleyball team rallied from a 2-1 deficit to force a fifth set in Friday afternoon's Peach Belt Conference tournament quarterfinal match against Francis Marion, but the fifth-seeded Bearcats fell, 3-2, to the fourth-seeded Patriots. Game scores were: 20-25, 25-21, 25-17, 19-25, 15-11.

Lander men's basketball signs Zane Rankin

Zane Rankin, a 6-3 guard from David W. Bulter High School in Matthews, N.C., became the latest Lander men's basketball signee announced Bearcat head coach Steve Roberts.

Rankin helped lead David W. Butler High School to a 24-6 record last season and an appearance in the Elite Eight of the NCHSAA 4A state playoffs. As a junior, Rankin averaged 10 points, four rebounds and two assists per games for the Bulldogs under the direction of head coach Myron Lowery. Over the summer, Rankin played for coach Kerry Sargent and the Charlotte Nets. Rankin begins his senior season on Nov. 17.

Austin Gray of Emerald High School baseball team just signed a National Letter of Intent to play baseball for USC Aiken.  Gray also plays for CSB Spikes Baseball.

PTC Celebrates One Book, One College Series

Piedmont Technical College will once again celebrate its One Book, One College series in November with this year’s spotlight novel, “South Carolina in the Modern Age”by Dr. Walter B. Edgar.

As a part of the college’s ninth annual One Book, One College series, the library will host the author Thursday, Nov. 17 at 1 p.m. in the PTC library.

Lander women's basketball eager for postseason success

After going one-and-done in the Peach Belt tournament in 2014-15, the Lander women's basketball team returned to the top of the conference last season with a PBC championship.

No. 18 Lander beats Flagler, advances to PBC title match

EVANS, Ga. - Hugo Delhommelle scored two goals on Friday afternoon to lead the top-seeded Lander men's soccer team to a 3-0 victory of fifth-seeded Flagler in the semifinals of the PBC Tournament at Blanchard Woods Park.

Lander advances to its second consecutive PBC championship match and its second it two seasons. The Bearcats will face either North Georgia or Young Harris on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.

18th-ranked Lander men's soccer topples UNCP, advances to PBC semis

The No. 18-ranked Lander men's soccer team overcame a slow start to net three second-half goals as the top-seeded Bearcats knocked off eighth-seeded UNC Pembroke, 4-0, on Tuesday night in the Peach Belt Conference quarterfinals at Van Taylor Stadium.

FLORENCE, S.C. – The Lander volleyball team continued its trek through the toughest part of the 2016 schedule with a 3-0 loss at Francis Marionon Tuesday night. The Patriots toped Lander 25-18, 25-21, 25-20.

Lander golf ties for third in McDonough Cup

ORLANDO, Fla. – The 14th-ranked Lander men's golf team finished in a tie for third on Tuesday in the two-day, three-round McDonough Cup, which was hosted by Rollins College at the par-72, 6,955-yard Rio Pinar Country Club.

1st Annual Orange vs Garnet Golf Tournament

On Friday, Nov 18 The Golf Club at Star Fort will host the 1st Annual Orange vs Garnet Golf Tournament.  Star Fort has always supported both sides of the Clemson vs Carolina rivalry.  In all fun, we are going to let all the golfers battle it out on the golf course to see which fan base prevails.

The top-seeded Lander men's soccer team begins its quest for the Peach Belt Conference tournament championship on Tuesday night, as the Bearcats host UNC Pembroke in the quarterfinals of the PBC tournament at 7:00 p.m., at Van Taylor Stadium.

The Ninety Six Wildcat Marching Band traveled down to Batesburg-Leesville Saturday to defend their Championship status.  After leaving it all on the field, they claimed back-to-back Championship.

Lander volleyball loses road match to USC Aiken

AIKEN, S.C. – The Lander volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision to USC Aiken at the Convocation Center on Thursday night. The Bearcats fell 25-17, 23-25, 25-22, 25-16. 

With the loss, Lander moves to 18-8 overall and 6-7 in the Peach Belt Conference. The Pacers improve to 22-3, (11-2).
