Lander golfers Michal Pospisil and Conor Richards earned Division II PING All-Region honors, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced today.
Over 100 players across eight regions - East, Atlantic, Southeast, South, Midwest, South Central, Central and West - earned all-region honors for 2017.
The duo of Pospisil and Richards contributed to a strong season for the Bearcats that included a No. 7 national ranking and the program's sixth trip to the NCAA Tournament.
Pospisil, the program's first-ever Peach Belt Conference Player of the Year, won the AFLAC/Cougar Invitational in the fall and the Bearcat Classic in the spring. He became the school's first three-time All-Conference selection. His 64 at the UNG Fall Invitational was the lowest single round in the PBC this season and he finished second in the league with a 72.33 stroke average.
Richards, the PBC Freshman of the Year, ranked second on the team and seventh in the PBC with a 73.39 stroke average. He finished in the top 10 five times, including at tie for eighth at the PBC Championship.
