Emerald High School Boys Varsity Sporting Clays scores 0 points at meet at Sporting Clay

The Emerald Clay Team shot sporting clays over the weekend in the final leg of the SCDNR Scholastic Clay Target Sports Governor’s Cup. ECT Middle school shooters competed on Friday, March 1st against 52 other squads from schools and clubs across the State. ECT varsity and junior varsity shooters competed on Saturday, March 2nd against over 159 squads.

The event was held at the NWTF Palmetto Shooting Complex located in Edgefield.

ECT middle school athletes shot the south course where they engaged fifty sporting clays over ten stations that simulated a variety of both, wooded and open field hunting scenarios. Both the varsity and junior varsity shooters competed on the north course where they shot one hundred sporting clays over fifteen stations.

This year’s turnout was even better than last year. Emerald shooters competed against over four hundred and fifty athletes from different school teams and shooting clubs throughout the State. ECT’s best varsity shooter this weekend was Noah Hall who shot a 87 and the best junior varsity shooter was Mitch McCarty who shot a 76, Jackson Williams shot a 38 to be our best middle school shooter.

Congratulations to Noah Hall who earn his SCDNR patch for shooting 25 straight without a miss.
