Emerald High School Boys Varsity Sporting Clays has tough day

The Emerald Clay Team had 12 shooters complete the SCTP second round qualifier of sporting clays on Saturday. The event was hosted at the NWTF Palmetto Shooting Complex located in Edgefield. Shooters were challenged by a variety of different size and styles of clay targets that simulated both bird and rabbit game in a variety of both, wooded and open field hunting scenarios. Athletes used skill and technique to try and break one hundred targets over fifteen different stations.

Competition was tough over the day, as our shooters were matched against over one hundred twenty athletes from 22 different school teams and shooting clubs.

Our best Varsity shooter this weekend was Grayson Dixon who shot a 82, our best Junior Varsity shooter was Mitch McCarty who shot a 78.

Ryan Sprouse shot 75 out of 100 and took 15th place HOA

Jackson Williams shot 65 out of 100 and took 28th place HOA

Jonathan Saxon shot 63 out of 100 and took 31st place HOA

Jackson Givens shot 59 out of 100 and took 34th place HOA

Landon Pitts shot 57 out of 100 and took 38th place HOA

Branson Fox shot 47 out of 100 and took 47th place HOA

Joey Shojaie shot 36 out of 100 and took 49th place HOA


Grayson Dixon shot 82 out of 100 and took 21st place HOA

Noah Hall shot 75 out of 100 and took 36th place HOA

Timmy Robinson shot 73 out of 100 and took 41st place HOA

Tyler Campbell shot 65 out of 100 and took 52nd place HOA
