Tickets Now on Sale for 9th annual Topiaries & Tastings Wine Walk
One of the most celebrated summer festivals in South Carolina, Greenwood’s Festival of Flowers, will host the 9th annual Topiaries and Tastings Wine Walk in Uptown Greenwood on Saturday June 2, 2018.  

Participants will sample some of the most exceptional wines offered in Uptown Greenwood’s restaurants and shops. This leisurely-yet-lively walk will feature performances by local musicians at many of the wine sampling stops, along with a close-up view of all of the beautiful topiaries, including the famous Lily the Mermaid and King Kong, along with 40 others. All 42 topiaries created for the 51st annual Festival of Flowers celebration will be on display June 1 - 30, 2018.

Greenwood Talks about Race - Series Invites Discussion

For three months, Greenwood citizens, black and white, have gathered at the Greenwood County Library to explore issues, past and present, related to race in the United States.

The final event in the series, Let’s Talk About Race in America, will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, May 20, and will focus on the novel, “Four Spirits,” which is set in the wake of racial tensions in 1960s Birmingham, Ala.

On Saturday, May 12th, 2018, at 10:30am, HospiceCare of the Piedmont will host the 19th Annual Butterfly Celebration.  This special occasion is a live butterfly release on the Hospice Center grounds and is sponsored by the Friends of Hospice Committee.

Run to the Rescue 5k to Benefit Humane Society of Greenwood

The 3rd annual Run to the Rescue 5K is being held May 12, 2018, 8:00 am to 11:30 am, at the American Legion Post 20 in Greenwood. The 3.1 mile race is organized by volunteers to benefit the Humane Society of Greenwood and to raise awareness of homeless animals in the community. All pre-registrants will receive an event t-shirt.

Annual Joanna Festival

MARK YOUR CALENDARS! The Joanna Community will host their Annual Festival April 27 – 28, 2018.

Festivities this year kick off Friday evening, April 27th at 7:00 p.m. with the crowd-pleasing “Puttin’ on the Hits” held on the Clubhouse Grounds at 302 Milton Road (the corner of Milton Road and Ellis Street). Buddy Bridges will be the emcee for the evening and talent from all around will be showcased.  If you would like to participate in the competition you can register on Thursday, April 26th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Clubhouse Grounds.  The entry fee is $15.00 per song and is due at registration.

Blue Knights Special Olympics Poker Run

The Blue Knights Motorcycle Club & SOA 5 are having a Poker Run on April 28th for all rides. Registration begins at 10:00 am with all rides out by 11 am. The ride begins at the Bi-Lo in Coronaca, Hwy 72/246 and ends at Sportsbreak. We will have door prizes, food, entertainment, t-shirts for sale and Best Hand -Worst Hand $$$$$. All proceeds benefit the Special Olympics
