PTC to Host Foothills Bridal Fair and Women's Expo

Planning a spring wedding? Or just looking for an exciting ladies’ night out? Piedmont Technical College has an event for you.

PTC will host the Foothills Bridal Fair and Women’s Expo Thursday, Jan. 26.

The event, sponsored by Piedmont Technical College’s Continuing Education division, offers everything for the bride-to-be from DJs, photographers and wedding planners to wedding venues, caterers and bridal gowns. For those not planning a wedding, the event will feature women’s clothing, skincare, health and wellness, jewelry, hair salons, travel and much more.

Early Registration Deadline for Chamber's annual Run Your Ice Off 5K and 8K Races is January 29th

Adult and youth runners alike are urged to register now for “Run Your Ice Off,” the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce’s annual 5K and 8K races, set for Saturday, February 4, 2017. In an effort to promote community wellness and health, the Chamber along with the presenting sponsor, Self Regional Healthcare and Self Medical Group, co-host this annual sporting event.

Poet Terri McCord to present writing workshop Jan 28

On Saturday, January 28, 2017, the Greenwood Writer’s Guild will present “End of the Line”, a writing workshop featuring award winning poet Terri McCord.  Participants will practice the art of creating lines and/or sentences that grab the attention of the reader and force new levels of understanding, whether the form is short essay, prose poetry,  lyric poetry or narrative poetry.

Annual Nashville Songwriters Benefit Postponed

The Annual Nashville Songwriters Benefit scheduled for this coming Saturday has been postponed due to the winter forecast and potential snow.  Weather experts are predicting anywhere from 1” to 5” of snow for the Greenwood area.  Organizers of the event said it’s best to reschedule to be on the safe side.

8th Annual "Run Your Ice Off!" 5K and 8K
Self Regional Healthcare presents the 8th Annual Run Your Ice Off 5K & 8K Races this year on Saturday, February 4.  Check in for the event will be held at the Uptown Greenwood Fountain.  Registration begins at 7am with the races starting at 8:30am.

Nashville Songwriter's Benefit to aid Make-A-Wish

The fourth Nashville Songwriters Benefit to benefit Make-A-Wish South Carolina will be January 7 at 7:00 PM at The Greenwood Community Theatre.

This year’s event will feature hit songwriter Byron Hill who has written songs for George Strait, Alabama, George Jones, Ray Charles, Jason Aldean and countless others.
