“That’s a wrap!”, says filmmaker Austin Newman, a Greenwood native who moved to Florida 5 years ago to pitch his script for his latest feature film, ‘MMXII’. What was once a dream is now a reality having completed his feature film and it will premiere at Premier Cinemas in Greenwood 10 on February 23rd.
Newman used locations all across Florida and local resources to make his film come to life. “We worked with an incredibly talented cast and crew who did a fantastic job from the production design to the cinematography”, says Newman.
Some in Greenwood may remember the 21 year-old Newman, who debuted his first feature film, the WWII drama film ‘Third on a Match’ back in 2009. Since his first film, he has had a career in film & television marketing as well as directing brand documentaries and new media content.
"'MMXII' is the story of a young man named Patrick, who's love of his life fell into a coma one year ago. Fearing for her life, Patrick creates a way to enter her world to bring her back to reality. But when her mind begins to fight back, he must race against the clock to bring her home.” explains Newman.
The 106 minute film is not rated, however Newman suggests a 13 and up audience due to light language and deep story.
‘MMXII’ will premiere in Greenwood on February 23rd at 7PM in the Premiere Cinemas Greenwood location. Tickets are available online through EventBrite (see attached link) and cash-only ticket sales are available through Premiere Cinemas in Greenwood.
