The Newberry County Sheriff’s Office is asking for your assistance in locating a suspect involved in a string of crimes starting in the upstate, who stole a truck from a convenience store located on Highway 121 at the intersection of I-26 in Newberry County.

The suspect went into the convenience store at about 3am and remained for some time. At around 5am, the suspect went out to a vehicle, whose owner had left the keys in the vehicle, and stole it. This vehicle is a 1988 Ford F-150 extended cab pickup truck with South Carolina license plate DHT139. The suspect left in an unknown direction of travel.

The suspect is described as white male. He is approximately 6 foot tall. He has brown hair with a Mohawk. He has several tattoos on his neck and arms. He was wearing a gray and black hat, light colored button up shirt, blue jeans, and black shoes.
Still pictures of the suspect as well as a similar vehicle to the one that was stolen are attached.

The suspect is also believed to be involved in a vehicle theft in Duncan as well as a burglary and vehicle theft in Laurens County. The stolen vehicle from Laurens County was located on I-26 near the exit that this vehicle was stolen early this morning.

If anyone has any information as to the identity and/or location of the suspect, you are asked to contact the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office at (803) 321-2222 or Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC or text “TIPSC” or email tips at tips@ncso.sc.gov.
