NSHS gets a visit from Author, Reyna Grande. The students listened to Mrs. Grande attentively as she spoke with them about her memoir and how she began writing while she was in college as a school project.
Mrs. Grande also told the students assembled in the Ninety Six High School Library that she felt it an honor and privilege to live in the United States of America because she " knew that if she still lived in Mexico, she may be someone's maid or housekeeper". She stressed the importance of being helpful to others who are in need. She also emphasized the need for changes to the immigration laws. Mrs. Grande told amazed students that no changes have been made to the immigration laws since 1986.
The author visit was funded by: The Greenwood County Library & The Greenwood Reads Project.
