Earlier this morning a Ninety Six Police Officers noticed a suspicious vehicle on Kate Fowler Road. As they attempted to perform a traffic stop, the vehicle attempted to flee.
The officer pursued the vehicle for a short time until it finally ran off the road into a ditch. Four suspects jumped out to the vehicle attempting to run. The officer was able to catch one of them. Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office joined the search and set up a perimeter around Roxanna Drive and down Golf Course Road. Using GCSO bloodhounds they were able to flush out two more suspects and take them into custody. One remains at-large.
These suspects were wanted in connection to many car break-ins around the Ninety Six area. “We have had 15 to 20 vehicle break-ins over the last few days and our officers have been working hard to find them”, said Ninety Six Police Chief Chris Porter. “I also want to thank GCSO for their quick response and help catching these suspects. Good cooperation between agencies helps bring success in cases like these”
The investigation continues and more details will be added as they become available.
